Explore (Chaplaincy)

The Explore project was set up in November 2010 after discussion with senior staff and school governors at South Hunsley with the aim of giving young people a space to explore faith and have the opportunity to ask questions in a safe environment.

Explore uses 3 or 4 varying activities (which last up to 4 minutes) to give young people an opportunity to engage with a particular issue of faith (e.g. forgiveness, body image, questions) and the chance to then engage in talking about the topic with a member of the Explore team or to simply finish the activity and leave the room.

The format of Explore is very much voluntary. Students can come in and leave as they please, engaging with as many or as few activities as they like.

We currently run 2 Explore sessions a week. On Mondays we run a Sixth Form Explore and on Thursdays we run an Explore for years 7-11.
