Mark Tiddy – Schools Worker and Youth Facilitator

Mark joined Hunsley Christian Youth Trust in September 2009 as our first (and only) full time member of staff. Mark’s role is split and he spends half his time as a schools worker primarily in South Hunsley School but also working with some of the feeder primary schools and spends the other half of his time working as a youth worker for All Saints’ Church in South Cave.

Mark is married to Joanna and  trained with Oasis College completing their degree in Youth Work & Ministry in May 2009 and alongside this Mark worked as a youth worker for a church in Peterborough. Mark has had experience with church youth groups, primary and secondary schools and has also worked with the Princes Trust on their team programme.

What do you do? I do schools work (CU’s, Assemblies etc.) and Youth Work for All Saint’s Church in South Cave & when I’m not doing that I play music.

From? Bexhill On Sea (Heaven’s waiting room!)
Why did you come to the Hunsley area? I applied for a job and was offered it and I love the area!
How long have you been a Christian? My parents were Christians so took me to church when I was little, when I was 11 I joined a church youth group and began to explore it for myself making a decision properly when I was about 17.
Best thing about the Hunsley Christian Youth Trust? The amazing vision that’s seen churches working together to form this exciting trust and the opportunity to get to know students in school.

Best type of coffee: Bizarrely I found caffeinated coffee was sending me to sleep but the best coffee for me has to be Mark’s and Spencer’s fairtrade, gold, instant de-caf…it’s seriously amazing!

The best thing in God’s world is… music
I’d really like to go to... to America…there’s a huge punk-rock tour every summer and I’d love to go!
I hate… dried pasta…yuck!
